We are happy to invite you to a two-day international conference on diagnostic controversies and novel treatment strategies for eating disorders and obesity. The conference will take place on Monday and Tuesday, January 26-27, 2009 in the Maale Hachamisha Conference Center. The scope of this conference is primarily clinical, hoping to enable experts in the area of eating disorders and obesity to gain better knowledge and expertise in the understanding and treatment of these complex disorders. Each day of the conference includes up-to-date lectures and workshops focusing on different aspects of the treatment of eating disorders and obesity. The lectures and workshops are designed to be both comprehensive and psychoeducational, and suitable for all relevant professions, including internal medicine, sports physicians, pediatricians, endocrinologists, psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, expressive therapists, dietitians, and physical activity trainers. We have made every effort to invite internationally recognized experts, and are happy to accommodate them in Israel. All plenary lectures and workshops will be in English, while there will be separate short paper sessions in both Hebrew and English. The first day of the conference will be dedicated to eating disorders and the second to overweight and obesity. Each day will include three up-to-date lectures, specific workshops for specific professions, and short paper sessions on clinical and research issues. The Conference has been initiated and organized by the Israel Society for Treatment, Research and Prevention of Eating Disorders. It is under the auspices of the Israel Society for Treatment, Research and Prevention of Eating Disorders and the Academy of Eating Disorders. We look forward to greeting you in Israel.
