Dr.
Woody has lectured internationally on cognitive
behavioural treatment of anxiety disorders for nearly
20 years. She has supervised or provided consultation
to psychologists at all levels of experience - from
first-year graduate students to experienced colleagues
who are also specialists in anxiety. She has also
written and lectured more generally about evidence-based
practice in psychology. In addition to her position
as an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director
of Clinical Training at the University of British
Columbia in Vancouver, Dr. Woody maintains a small
private practice specializing in anxiety disorders.
She is a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive
Therapy and was a Van Ameringen Fellow at the Beck
Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research.
Dr. Woody's research has included randomized controlled
trials with panic disorder, depression, social phobia,
and OCD as well as basic research on cognitive processes
involved in maladaptive fear and anxiety. Among
her publications are two co-authored books: Anxiety
Disorders in Adults and Treatment Planning in Psychotherapy.
She has served as an Associate Editor of Behaviour
Research and Therapy and Journal of Consulting and
Clinical Psychology. Her contributions to research
have been recognized by the David Shakow Award for
Outstanding Early Career Contributions from Division
12 of the APA in 2000 and a Killam Research Prize
in 2003. |
